my favorite cooking smell...
so this is totally random, but i LOVE the smell of basil and garlic. i mean totally love it. i will add those two spices to almost any food that i eat. the other day i was cooking with fresh basil, making my favorite pesto sauce, and i literally was in heaven. that smell does more for my mood than aroma therapy or bath salts. it's a crazy love affair, but there it is. in my opinion, fresh basil and garlic can kick the trash out of any other kitchen herb.

A hearty agreement issued from Phoenix. My new favorite pesto has the aforementioned basil and garlic with the decadent addition of fresh mint. Try it.
AGREED! My mom's got basil in her backyard, and I'm always throwing it in with plenty of garlic. I miss you, Katie!!
