yesterday, 4:30 i was busily trying to finish the dishes before the young men in our ward were coming over for an argentine missionary night (the 5th time in the past week i've played hostess). i was over-worked, stressed for stretching myself too thing, and desperate to get everything done in time. halfway through the dishes i noticed my sweet two-year old pulled a chair next to me and started "helping" with the dishes. this is what i saw: 
he was completely soaked, shirt, pants, socks, and hair. plus, he was using my dishwater soap as shampoo and deliberately rubbing it into his hair. despite the fact that i had no time for silliness (a phrase i had used minutes before i discovered this mess) i couldn't help but laugh. i'm grateful i have someone who helps me not take life too seriously.
