all of chicago land has been hit by a huge blizzard--the worst in 20 some odd years. we have 22 inches of snow outside. the roads aren't plowed. lake shore drive is shut down completely. I-290 only has one lane open and they have asked drivers to stay off all tollways because the majority of the exit ramps are closed. o'hare and midway airports are closed down with no planes arriving or taking off. and the mayor of naperville issued a state of emergency and urged all citizens to stay off the roads. 
which means...no work for dave...no church activities...no meetings
TIME FOR HOT CHOCOLATE AND PLAYING IN THE SNOW!!!!
standing in the middle of our yard the snow literally came up past my knees. I had to hold Mark up so he could see the camera. and honestly, we're not even standing on the grass, there is a ton of snow still under our feet. that's how much snow there is.
we're warm, safe, and enjoying the extra family day we're getting. LET IT SNOW!!!

Mark looks so happy! The snow is about as tall as he is. Don't you love snow days!! I hope you can dig your car out sometime :( We'll come and help mom
Wow that is unreal. Mark looks so cute trying to shovel and so small in all that snow. Way to shovel Dave.
