just like me

mark has recently been making the transition from baby to boy. as he's grown people have noticed the striking similarities he shares with his dad: he's clef chin, his long eye lashes, he's athletic ability (yes he's already a super star at 16 months!) , etc... i, as his mother, share similarities with him as well--however, the ones i share aren't ones i'd readily claim, like his cheeks, i'm told mark and i have the same cheeks. which, although cute, are rather chubby. a good look for a 16 month-old but not flattering for a 25 year-old.

but today i found a quality that mark and i share that i'm proud to share with him...an infatuation with...cafe rio food. recently, i have discovered this AMAZING mexican grocery store that sells the exact ingredients i need to make the most authentic renditions of cafe rio beef, pork, and the famous cilantro dressing. i CRAVE cafe rio when i'm a way from utah. and so to have the ability to create the cafe rio experience from my own kitchen is literally heaven. last night, when i made the cafe rio-themed dinner for my family, mark couldn't stop eating it! he almost licked the plate clean when he was done. it brought tears to my eyes to think that mark and i can always share this love of cafe rio.

okay, that is so funny because I made the cafe rio pork salads the other day and Em couldn't get enough of the dressing! I finally gave her a puddle of it and She was dipping tortilla chunks in it and licking it off. Mark sure is getting big!
