nothing morbid about our vacation

the day after a vacation is the hardest for me. I spend the whole day, surrounded by laundry, looking at the clock and thinking, "it's 3:45, yesterday at this time I was laying out in 80 degree sun, by the side of the pool, reading and tanning (my two favorite summer activities), knowing that in an hour when Mark gets up from his nap, we'd head back to Sea World and watch the killer whale show (for the 3rd time). man! life was so good yesterday. i hate laundry."
i've recently learned in my life that if i had a lot of money i'd be a perpetual vacationer. i believe that shopping could get boring, driving nice cars have never interests me, and since i don't love to clean bathrooms i could never own a huge house, but vacations...lots and lots of vacations would be wonderful. i love traveling. i love exploring new places. it doesn't matter if it's by plane or car--i even love road trips. i love them all. i particularly loved this trip. i have been to Orlando many times in the past, but this time, the first time with Mark, was so wonderful. there is something magical about seeing whales, fishes, dolphins, boats, etc...for the first time through the eyes of your child. our condo was literally 2 minutes from Sea World so we went there often. i was anxious to see how the whales behaved in their show, Believe, since it was here that a month ago a trainer was killed by a killer whale. as a result of this event, the show had changed--the guilty whale (who was the largest of all the whales) was not apart of the show, and the trainers did not get into the water with any of the whales. it was interesting watching the whale show. see those beautiful and huge animals look so graceful and happy performing that it was hard to picture one turning on a trainer. the whales and trainers act more like friends then teacher and student. and watching the performance you get the impression that the whales want to perform. that nothing would please them more then to be do back flips in front of a cheering crowd. the whales act more like big hams that thrive with attention then wild animals trained very well. nothing eventful happened at during the show (luckily) and mark fell in love with the performance; hence, we saw it 3 times!

i have found my new calling in life: knee boarding. love it!

discover cove, a private park where you can snorkel, swim with dolphins, feed birds from your hand, and eat amazing food. we spent an entire day there. we all loved it--even mark did, despite how it looks in the picture (like he's being choked) he LOVED swimming with all the fishes.

this was a typical scene in Orlando, chase (representative of the entire family) trying to show mark something cool (in this picture an oncoming boat) and mark showing interest for less than a second and then quickly running off, anxious to be involved and see EVERYTHING. man, he's getting fast! i can hardly keep up with him.

{Where was I when this post got up..anyway, just reading it now} I HEAR you about spending $ on traveling and experiences. Steve and I love to put $ there more than on gifts and things, too. And through everything you've said, that sounds like the GREAT vacation package.

I'm with you on the "if I had Money all I'd do is travel" thing! This vacation looks SO fun; we're going to have to go sometime:)
